The Face Behind the Name

Olivia is the face behind Monadnock Market. She was born in Peterborough, NH. Most of her family, both presently and generations before, is from southern New Hampshire; however, Olivia went on a different path and primarily grew up as a military child.

Having lived in Japan, California, Texas, and Guam military suburbia, winter was virtually foreign to her. Olivia’s father retired from active duty when she was fourteen and he resettled the family in rural New Hampshire, or rather, “the sticks,” surrounded by stone walls, fields, wood stacks, and gardens. Pulled from military structure and uniformity and thrust into a new way of life, defined by the seasons, Olivia found herself where she felt she belonged. It should be noted it wasn’t all sticks and stones – proper city life also made itself known to her, as her mother briefly lived in Boston, MA. In exploring the city, and eventually other northeastern coastal towns, Olivia felt early American history come alive.

New England’s character is truly unlike anywhere else.

The life-altering transition of Olivia reconnecting with her New England roots inspires much of Monadnock Market’s content.

Olivia is the oldest of seven children. She lives with her boyfriend and two cats, Rome and Vivian. When she is not crafting new ideas for Monadnock Market, she is either spending time with her family and friends; gardening; playing games (board games, card games, video games, lawn games, arcade games… you get the picture); dabbling in the hobby that sparked her interest that week; or curling up to watch a good show.

Enjoy.
